Garden Festival “When Roses Speak”

On July 20, 2025, Jaunmokas Palace park will blossom into a vibrant celebration of fragrance, music, and color during the Garden Festival “When Roses Speak” — a full-day cultural event for all the senses. Visitors will enjoy a carefully curated blend of artisan markets, storytelling, guided tours, creative workshops, and an enchanting evening concert.

The day begins at 12:00 with the opening of the “Tales of the Rose Market” – a fair of craftsmen and local producers. Every handmade item and homegrown product tells a story, making this more than just a market — it’s an experience of meaning and memory.

At 13:00, the official festival opening ceremony will take place in front of the palace, where the silence of nature will be transformed into stories about roses, dreams, and human connection.

From 13:30 to 15:00, guests are invited to join informal conversations in the palace garden with representatives from other Latvian castles and manors during the segment “Where Stories Blossom”, highlighting friendships, collaboration, and shared heritage.

At 15:00, a guided garden tour “Encounters in Rose Stories” led by the park’s expert will uncover the symbolic meanings of different rose varieties and the hidden corners of the palace park. This is followed at 16:00 by a ticketed indoor tour “Encounters in Palace Stories”, revealing the historical and cultural narratives of Jaunmokas Palace itself.

Throughout the afternoon, from 13:30 to 16:00, visitors can immerse themselves in “When Roses Speak to the Forest”, a poetic performance beneath the linden alley where writers’ readings intertwine with the meditative resonance of gongs.

Creative minds of all ages are welcome between 13:30 and 18:00 in the Children’s Blooming World — an intellectual and creative zone offering workshops like “Re-Encounters” and an open-air art session “Colors in Bloom”.

Throughout the festival, guests will also be able to capture unique, personalized images using AI-powered photography — a fusion of modern technology and natural beauty that turns the palace and roses into an artistic backdrop for every visitor’s story.

The celebration will culminate at 18:00 with the open-air concert “Notes of Feelings” by Latvian singer Ance Krauze, featuring both newly released music and beloved classics. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or folding chairs to enjoy the concert comfortably.

A summer café will be open during the event, offering seasonal dishes and refreshing drinks. Accommodation is available at the Jaunmokas Palace Hotel — advance booking is recommended to fully experience the serene atmosphere of the estate.
